Buckeye Careers offers virtual workshops during business hours. Requests made by academic units will be forwarded to internal career service offices when applicable.

 

Monthly Virtual Workshop Series 

This summer we will be offering a monthly virtual career workshop series via Zoom. All workshops are open to all Ohio State undergraduates, graduate, professional and post-doctoral students. 

 

Strategies for Virtual Interviewing

Our interview skills workshop is designed to help students preparing for job or graduate school interviews. This workshop covers what to do before, during and after an interview. We provide techniques and strategies for preparing for interviews, answering interview questions and behaving confidently and professionally during your interview. This presentation can be used as the first step of our two-appointment process for Mock Interviews. 

Resume Workshop 

1-2 p.m. Wednesday, June 21

3-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 18

Your resume is often your first chance to make a positive impression on a prospective employer. Whether this is your first time writing a resume, or you are looking for tips to update and tailor your resume for a new opportunity, this workshop will provide you with relevant and practical information. We will also lay the foundation of resume-making by first discussing how to mindful of your career vision. Join us to learn more about what to include on your resume, how to format it and how to make it stand out. 

Job Search Strategies 

1-2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14

1-2 p.m. Wednesday, July 12

This virtual workshop for all students will highlight the career planning process. We’ll discuss how to create a career vision and learn the steps to find and obtain the career best fit for you. Students will learn how to expand their job search approach to broaden their knowledge of possible career trajectories and effectively highlight their skills and experiences through tailoring their application materials to each position. This workshop will focus on a variety of job/internship search strategies with an emphasis on networking that can be utilized no matter where a student is in their career journey.

Requests made two weeks before the event will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.

 

Workshop Policies 

Buckeye Careers offers 60- and 90-minute workshops on a variety of career-related topics. For Spring 2023, our workshops are facilitated virtually on Zoom and in-person. Requests will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, and three weeks’ advance notice is greatly appreciated. 

We ask that requests include a minimum of 15 students per workshop. Workshops with fewer than 10 registrants may be canceled. University Housing requests should be made by a residence hall rather than a single floor. 

We may require a pre-workshop consultation to determine and agree upon learning outcomes.
