Monthly Virtual Workshop Series 

All workshops are open to all Ohio State undergraduates, graduate, professional and post-doctoral students. All workshops are available via the events feature in Handshake.

 

Resume Workshop 

Monday 11a.m.-12p.m.: January 8, February 5, March 4, April 1

Thursday 2-3p.m.: January 25, February 22, March 21, April 18

Your resume is often your first chance to make a positive impression on a prospective employer. Whether this is your first time writing a resume, or you are looking for tips to update and tailor your resume for a new opportunity, this workshop will provide you with relevant and practical information. We will also lay the foundation of resume-making by first discussing how to mindful of your career vision. Join us to learn more about what to include on your resume, how to format it and how to make it stand out. 

 

Strategies for Interviewing 

Wednesday 3-4 p.m.: January 31, February 28, March 27, April 24

Our interview skills workshop is designed to help students preparing for job or graduate school interviews. This workshop covers what to do before, during and after an interview. We provide techniques and strategies for preparing for interviews, answering interview questions and behaving confidently and professionally during your interview. This presentation can be used as the first step of our two-appointment process for Mock Interviews. 

 

Leveraging Handshake and Job Search Strategies for Undergraduates

Tuesday 6-7 p.m.: January 9, March 5, April 30

Wednesday 6-7 p.m.: February 7, April 3

Do you want to connect with employers, research job and internship opportunities, and even chat with students who have already had your dream job or internship? Every Ohio State student can explore job and internship opportunities through Handshake. You will learn how to make the most out of Handshake to find a part time job, internship, or full time job. This workshop will empower you to research potential employers, and to use Handshake to contact them. You will also learn how to use Handshake for career exploration and to find out what other students with similar majors and interests have done.

Friday 12-1 p.m.: January 26, February 23, March 22, April 19

Do you want to connect with employers, research job opportunities, and network?  Every Ohio State student can explore job and fellowship opportunities through Handshake. You will learn how to make the most out of Handshake to find a part time job, fellowship, or full time job. This workshop will empower you to research potential employers, and to use Handshake to contact them. You will also learn how to use Handshake for career exploration and to find out what other students in similar fields have done.

Grad School 101

Wednesday 3-4 p.m.: February 14, April 10

Thursday 3-4 p.m.: January 18, March 14

Unsure of how to prepare and apply to Graduate School? This workshop will  teach you the basics of choosing the right graduate program and how/what to materials to gather for your application.
